Residents should not have to pay Freedom of Information fees or navigate unnecessary barriers to access information about the conduct and accountability of their elected officials and municipal administration.

Transparency also means being honest about challenges. Residents deserve clear communication about municipal finances, infrastructure needs, project costs, and service levels. Good news should be shared openly, but difficult conversations should be as well. Strong leadership means providing accurate information, listening to concerns, and making decisions based on facts and the best interests of the community.

Strong partnerships with neighbouring municipalities, regional organizations, Indigenous communities, and government agencies can also create opportunities for shared services, joint projects, and regional initiatives that benefit everyone involved. Working together often allows municipalities to achieve more than they could independently.

Effective advocacy requires preparation, communication, and persistence. As Mayor, I will work to ensure Markstay-Warren has a strong voice at Provincial and Federal tables. I will advocate for the needs of our residents, promote the opportunities our municipality offers, and build the relationships necessary to secure support for our community's priorities.
